File Hurricane Photo & Video Sharing Members Features and Benefits

FileHurricane is a premiere photo and video tagging site. While you are able to view, tag, rate, and upload pictures and videos without having an account, you don’t have the full experience that members with free accounts have. There are a lot of community related features at your disposal if you sign up for a free account.

Dashboard

When you first login to File Hurricane, you are shown your main dashboard. Your main dashboard contains subscriptions, your latest uploaded media, and your public profile.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions allow you to subscribe to another user. It keeps your user dashboard page with the latest content that your friends have posted to FileHurricane. You can subscribe to as many people as you want. You can subscribe to any user that currently has an account on File Hurricane by viewing a picture or video that they have uploaded and simply click Subscribe.

For example, a user, jstarr, uploaded a picture. There is a subscribe button on that page when you are logged in. Clicking that will subscribe you to them and put them on your User Dashboard. Remember you have to be logged in to use this feature.

Your Latest Uploaded Media

Your latest uploaded media shows you all of the latest videos and pictures that you’ve uploaded. Your public site profile contains information about you. You can completely fill out or leave it empty, the choice is entirely up to you.

Your Public Profile

Your public profile site link gives you a unique listing of all of your tags for everything you’ve uploaded. You can give the URL to your friends and family so they can check back every once in a while to see what’s new with you.

You can view other people’s public albums by clicking their name by a picture or video. For example, to view jstarr’s public album, click the username below the picture or video that he uploaded.

Comments

Another major benefit of registering for a free account is the ability to write comments about pictures and videos that you find throughout the site. When you are logged in, click a picture on there is an Add Your Comment feature at the bottom of each picture page to allow you to make any comments that you want to make.

Profile Picture

Another really interesting feature of FileHurricane is you can take any picture you find on the site and customize it to be your profile picture, which shows up in comments you post. If you want to make a picture your profile picture, when you are logged in, there is a Make Profile Picture link under each photo. That gives you a bounding box that you can expand or shrink with an updated preview to the right. Once you are happy with your selection, all you have to do is click Save. Your profile picture has been changed.
